Human Design Reflector

Reflector Human Design Types represent about 1% of the population.

Purpose

Reflectors are the rarest of the Human Design types. What makes a Reflector’s chart unusual is that they have no definition in any of the Human Design centres.

A Reflector's purpose is to reflect the health of their community. They are truly here for others and are always reflecting the health and welfare of those around them. Reflectors are deeply conditioned by their environment. They typically have a totally different life experience to all the other Human Design types. They are an instrument for the greater good of humanity here to help heal the world.

Reflectors amplify everything around them. Other people will often see themselves reflected back by a Reflector; sometimes an even more intense version of themselves. Reflectors are designed to see people for who they truly are – the beauty underneath their life conditioning.

Reflectors can be resilient, larger than live healers with wisdom that needs to be shared with the world. They must learn how to navigate their openness so they don't become conditioned by people and the world around them.

When they harness their natural teflon aura they can be beacons of light for other people revealing how aligned others are to their authentic self and life path. Ultimately, Reflectors are here to dance with the world; to respond to the world around them and translate inspiration into reality.

Decision Making Strategy

Reflectors are lunar beings. This means they are affected by the cycle of the moon. As the moon moves through all 64 hexagram gates within the human design chart every 28 days, it changes the definition of a Reflector's chart. Reflectors don't have a consistent internal way to know if the decisions they make are right for them. There is nothing worse for a Reflector than feeling pressured to make a decision on the spot.

Reflectors can use the 28 days of the lunar cycle to feel into decisions that are best for them. Through this cycle they experience temporary definition in their chart which allows them to have moments of clarity within themselves about any decisions they have to make.

Reflectors really need to talk to people when they have a big decision to make.  This helps them to hear what is right for them in the process of talking about it out loud. It helps if Reflectors engage in whatever other activities feels right for them to help them make a decision; research, visit a psychic, journal about it, meditate, etc. if it helps them explore their decision. Through this process and the 28 day lunar cycle they will begin to feel what is right for them within their body.

Reflectors should use the way they feel as a gauge for whether something is right for them or not. When they feel good, they are in the right place with the right people. If not, they may need to make some changes.

Emotional theme - Disappointment

Reflectors often feel disappointed by humanity. They may see and feel things that other people can’t and don’t. People often disappoint them.  They can often feel alone and misunderstood. They can also suffer deep disappointment when having to wait to make any big decisions and live through the energy of others. Even though Reflectors can fit in with nearly everyone, everywhere they may often feel inadequate and disappointed because they don't feel like they fit in specifically anywhere.

Reflectors are very aware and conscious of their environment and the people within it which drives them to always look after others and often put other's needs first. They can feel deeply disappointed when they realise that other people don't treat them with the same level of care and concern.

A Reflector is rarely surprised, but when they are they are completely in their element.

Health

Reflectors have a sensitive immune system and can easily burn out. They also need significant alone time to discharge the energy that they pick up from other people and get it out of your body. It is healthy to take this time alone as often as you need.

Hard physical exercise or labour is not always right for Reflectors. What feels good is probably good as they remember when enough is enough and they don’t overdo it. It can be hard for Reflectors to determine the difference between when they are actually unwell and when the community around them is making them unwell. An unwell Reflector can be a sign of a toxic environment.

Work

Reflectors are not here to work in the traditional sense. They don’t have the energy for it. Working a traditional 9–5 job won’t be sustainable for them – especially as they get older.

In the workplace, Reflectors can be visionaries and can express the potential of the business as they carry the awareness of what’s possible in their energy field.

Sleep

Reflectors may have challenges with sleep. Because they are non-sacral beings they need to go to bed before they're tired. This allows them the time to download and finish processing the energy they've picked up during the day before they fall asleep. They can do this by lying in bed and reading, listening, or just lying there allowing themselves to drift off to sleep when they're naturally ready. This will ensure they get a better quality of sleep.

They should sleep alone if possible or with another non-sacral being (any type except Generators). They can pick up on the sacral energy from Generators during their sleep causing them to have a very restless sleep.
